Spring

After a long winter preparing for the next year’s season, Spring at The Farm begins by offering variety of bedding plants and and vegetable starts for you to enjoy in your own home gardens. We have decorative hanging baskets, large planters of mixed flowers, a variety of annuals and perennials and more that we source from nurseries that we have had long partnerships with in the Chicagoland area. We also offer organic and sustainable herb and veggie plants that we grow ourselves. Allowing you to have a taste of the farm from your very own garden!

Summer

As the weeks get hotter and our fields continue to grow, we start harvesting a variety of produce starting in early July. The first harvest of Sweet Corn varies, but usually begins early-Mid July. Tomatoes, another summer favorite, usually start producing steadily in the fields by August 1st. As the desire for tomatoes has increased, we have invested in High Tunnel structures that have allowed us to extend our season. We now can have tomatoes as early as Late June and through July, but only a limited amount. Much more vegetables and fruits arrive as the summer progresses, including onions, peppers, zucchini, pickling cucumbers, garlic, peaches, blueberries, plums, and much more!

Autumn

As Summer wanes, the farm continues harvesting many of our summer crops like corn and tomatoes. Yet we also start preparing for Halloween and Thanksgiving! Our many varieties of pumpkins, gourds and squashes are perfect for your fall decor displays! As well as a smaller selection for eating. We also have other fall decor items for sale, like cornstalks or hay, perfect for your own festivities.

Winter

Unfortunately, we are closed for the winter. Unlike other major grocery stores, we grow all of our own produce, with a selection of other products sourced from local partners. That means you get the freshest food without it being stored for long, but also means that the farm is only open for a short time every year. So, if you want a chance to take a bite out of our fresh veggies, or pick up a pumpkin, get here and pick it up before it is too late!
