A little about us…

We are a family owned farm in the western suburbs of Chicago, growing all our vegetables, cut flowers, and melons in Kendall County, IL. We strongly believe in quality fresh produce that is grown locally, and value the quality of the product above all else. We pick our produce daily and only pick it when it’s ripe and at the peak of flavor. All of our locations have produce brought to them daily.

We believe that produce wasn’t meant to be mass produced, instead grown locally and sustainably with concern for the quality and freshness of the products. From bedding flowers in the spring, fresh sweet corn, tomatoes, and a wide variety of vegetables in the summer, to pumpkins, squash and vegetables in the fall, we work to bring you the best quality produce and flowers in the Chicagoland area.

We also offer a selection of locally sourced fruit, canned goods, and honey. We work with 2 fruit farmers in Michigan to offer the freshest peaches, blueberries, and much more seasonal fruit during the summer months. We also offer local raw Honey from a local apiary in Frankfurt, IL. In addition we also have a selection of salsas, jams, salad dressings and much more made by small producers located in the Midwest.

From sowing the seeds in spring to harvesting our last patch in the fall, we do it all ourselves. We begin growing our plants in greenhouses in early March. In mid April we start planting our sweet corn in the fields, and in May plant our greenhouse raised seedlings. We continue to plant throughout the summer to have a steady stream of produce the whole season. We pick our produce every day of the week to ensure fresh vegetables for our customers, taking Sundays off.

Our History.

In 1963, we began selling produce in the western suburb of Westchester on 31st St. and Wolf Rd., growing all of our produce on 105 acres of land next to the farm stand. As the farmland became developed, we moved our growing operations to Kendall County, IL, near the village of Plainfield where we still grow all of our produce today, less than 30 miles from all of our farmstands. Our selling locations have changed through the years, but we are now at 2 permanent locations and a farmer’s market.

We are third generation vegetable growers and farm stand operators, and we believe in the tradition of bringing our customers true freshness and top quality vegetables, and continually working to make our local business more sustainable.
